Marta Benedetti A city running at full speed, thanks to the usual and happy combination of StrAVicenza-Ultrabericus. Tomorrow and Sunday mark the most anticipated events of the year for Vicenza's runners.

Ultrabericus
Leading the way will be Ultrabericus with its 1,900 participants from 16 different nations. The starting point tomorrow morning will be in Piazza dei Signori, where the finish line is also set. The race offers various types including a 65 km full marathon, Twin him&her, Marathon, Urban, Junior, and Nordic races.

StraAVicenza
And then there's the "queen" StrAVicenza 10 – Trofeo Banca delle Terre Venete, in its 22nd edition, scheduled for Sunday with several side events during the city's traffic block. The double race day was presented in the Sala Stucchi at Palazzo Trissino by the Sports Councillor Leone Zilio and the Environment Councillor Sara Baldinato; Regional Councillor Roberto Ciambetti sent a video message of greeting. For the Ultrabericus trail, interventions were made by Ultrabericus Team Vice President Denis Bagnara, race director Enrico Pollini, Gianfranco Vivian (Agsm Aim), and local athlete Alessandra Boifava. For StrAVicenza, speeches were given by Atletica Vicentina President, the organizing society, Barbara Lah, Gianfranco Sasso, President of Banca delle Terre Venete, and Federica Del Buono, who will not be running this year due to her commitment to a 10 km race in Spain. Barbara Sanavia from "Rise against hunger" also spoke. "On March 16 and 17, Ultrabericus and Stravicenza will take place," said Zilio. "We will start with Ultrabericus, which extends along the Berici Hills but starts from the heart of the city, Piazza dei Signori, and then continue with StrAVicenza. These two events also support solidarity initiatives, including 'Rise against hunger,' an event hosted by AV, which will see about forty volunteers on Saturday at the Santa Maria Nova gym, packaging meals for children in African schools. Thanks to StrAVicenza, the twinning between Vicenza and Annecy will also be strengthened." StrAVicenza already has 700 registered athletes for the 10 km race. But it will be a celebration especially for all participants in the non-competitive races (4.5 and 10 km).
