StrAVicenza, let a new celebration begin. The countdown has started for the 22nd edition of the city-wide race, the Banca delle Terre Venete Trophy, which will take place on Sunday, March 17, in its classic double format: a competitive Fidal race covering a distance of 10 kilometers, and a recreational-amateur march developing on 4.5 and 10 km.
StrAVicenza, promoted by Atletica Vicentina and the Municipality of Vicenza, with the patronage of the Veneto Region, will once again be an event for schools of all levels in the province of Vicenza, with strong reserved incentives based on the number of participants. Schools have always been the beating heart of the event, thanks to the enthusiasm of students and teachers, the colors, and the joy they bring along the streets of the city center.
The testimonial
This year, the city-wide race, an unmissable event for running enthusiasts of all ages and families alike, will be enhanced by the presence of Orlando Pizzolato, the marathon runner who became a legend in 1984 by winning his first New York Marathon (he repeated the feat the following year). On the 40th anniversary of this success that made the entire province proud, StrAVicenza-Trofeo Banca delle Terre Venete celebrates it by appointing him as the testimonial of the event.
Route
The route of the last edition is confirmed, winding along the main streets and avenues of the city, offering a fast but intense and evocative journey to discover the city and its beauties. The start of the competitive race is set in Viale Roma at 10:30 a.m., followed by the non-competitive march.
Registrations
It is possible to register for the race until 24:00 on Wednesday, March 13. Registration entitles you to the race bib, electronic timing chip rental, insurance and medical assistance, refreshments, changing rooms, and bag storage. The first 800 bibs are guaranteed technical gadgets and race packs. For clubs, payment can be made by bank transfer by requesting a specific registration form at stravicenza@gmail.com.
Non-competitive
As for the non-competitive march, it will be possible to register directly on Sunday at the dedicated booth set up in Campo Marzo; the bracelet necessary for participation in the march and the final refreshment will be issued. The fees remain unchanged: 4 euros for those aged 14 and above, 3 euros for ages 5 to 14, free for children up to 5 years old and people with disabilities.
Solidarity
The bond of StrAVicenza with solidarity is renewed. This year, part of the proceeds will be donated to Bizzart, a social cooperative that takes care of teenagers in fragile situations.
