Surprise: The IEG fair brings vintage cars to Vicenza. The new exhibition, called "Vicenza Classic Car Show," is scheduled for this weekend, from today to Sunday 21 (from 9:30 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.), at the exhibition spaces in Via dell'Oreficeria in Vicenza, 400 meters from the Vicenza Ovest highway exit. Italian Exhibition Group, active in organizing international trade fairs, is partnering with Mosaico, the company organizing a similar event - the Milano AutoClassica - next November in Milan Rho.
The Past
The core business revolves around the exhibition of classic and sports cars, including the sale of sought-after vintage models by private collectors and a curated selection of spare parts and accessories, as well as car models and manuals. Naturally, there's the "blessing" of the category federations, starting with the Historic Aci and the Automobile Club Vicenza. "Our province - explains Luigi Battistolli, president of Aci Vicenza - is very connected to motorsport and the rally world, with names like Cariolato, Marzotto, Cunico, and the two-time world champion Miki Biasion: we welcomed this new fair with interest. Kudos to the organizers, who quickly conceived and covered the available areas, confirming how alive the passion for engines and collecting is in the territory." Similarly, Alberto Scuro, president of Asi Vicenza, states, "Here, the history of engines feels right at home."
The Future
From classic cars to appealing Youngtimers - vehicles aged between 25 and 35 years, increasingly popular among car enthusiasts - to unique pieces that will be the stars of tomorrow. There's also room for ecological transition, with one specialized brand offering two of its flagship models for test drives in the outdoor area of Pavilion 7.
Not just cars
"Vicenza Classic Car Show" also becomes an opportunity for gathering and discussion: not just cars. In Vicenza's historic house of Vicenzaoro and watch salons, alongside cars, the organizers have also set aside space for a "selected exhibition of vintage watches, as an added value." Collecting vintage cars and vintage watches share common ground "starting from tradition, the taste for excellence, craftsmanship, style, and beauty."
